From 26.05.-05.08.2023 we will show in a new group exhibition actual works of eight internationally living and working female artists coming from Ukraine, Germany, Great Britain, Poland and Switzerland. All participants of the project, i.e. Kyra Tabea Balderer, Irma Blumstock, Ceal Floyer, Agnieszka Mastalerz, Ellen Möckel, Victoria Pidust, Valentina Pini and Milva Stutz work in the field of „Lens Based Media“. Using photography, video installation, printmaking and sculpture, the artists develop a visual-democratic microcosm at the a&o Kunsthalle that raises questions about global coexistence.
Within an installation created specifically for the space, works by digital native women artists are shown that conceive nature and culture as interwoven realities and make them visible in analog form. In the integrated works, boundaries of structures are dissolved, opening the space for possible symbioses and hybrids. In the construction of this interdisciplinary model space, the entities that have so far significantly defined us are transformed into moving narratives.
Among other things, the increasingly condensed field of tension between society, culture, and production is illuminated, and the friction resulting from this interconnectedness is brought into focus. In accordance to the exhibition‘s title, it is already time to step out of the familiar frames. But it is not easy for the lobster to drop its shell if its environment is not sensitized to the strains it undertakes for more mobility and sustainable growth.

The finissage will take place on 05.08.2023, 4 pm.
