Mathijs Van Sark is a contemporary artist currently running his artistic practice from Göteborg, Sweden.

His work has a strong focus on the boundaries and purpose of a broad range of materials and their definition, aiming to strengthen or weaken specific characteristics. Making use of found objects, raw materials but also movements and social structures, themes like scale and proportion become a substantive element, amending their roll towards each of their peers as well as their possibly altered surroundings.

Mathijs Van Sark has set the goal to make his work speak for itself, and perhaps for him, but never more.
